Today not only a spin off, but also a really good unusual genre for a Final Fantasy game.
Theatrhythm is a rhythm game utilizing the touch screen of the 3DS. It offers three different game mechanics which are connected to the three stages called field, battle and event. They vary from simply tapping music notes on the screen to sliding with your stylus according to the music.
The story is similar to the one from Dissidia. It's a battle between Chaos and Cosmos. All Final Fantasy characters are brought from their worlds to restore the balance again. The only way to accomplish this is to increase a music wave called "Rhythmia".
The game is still really easy to find and costs, depending of the region, between 20€-40€. If you have trouble finding the game in your country, check out @playasia as they have JP and EU versions in stock. NA versions was available not so long ago. Maybe I bought the last one 😂
