Usually, I would think, "Another cloud?!" But this time, it's different! Okay, not really. I'm still annoyed that Square Enix keeps releasing more and more FFVII figures instead of giving some love to other entries. However, I'm hopeful that the FFVII figures are just the beginning of this series, so I haven't lost hope that we'll also get characters from other games.
It's evident that Square Enix's "Adorable Arts" are another attempt to create their own Nendoroid-like figure series instead of licensing Good Smile Company. Square Enix already tried this in the past with the Trading Arts Kai Mini series, but for no obvious reasons, they just stopped producing them. But hey, at least they made two Clouds and two Tifas... 🙄
Cloud Strife from "Final Fantasy VII Remake" is very detailed and stands with his trademark Buster Sword propped over his shoulder. The figure is approximately 12cm tall and comes with interchangeable parts that allow you to display him in a pose.
While I'm really happy with the figure quality and the box they come in, I have to mention the price. This Cloud is listed for €70 in the official EU SE store. Compared to the Trading Arts Kai series, which was only around €20 per figure, this is a steep price. Yes, the Adorable Arts Cloud looks good, but he's not so detailed that it justifies the price. I'm sure many people will see it that way too, and these figures will likely end up on sale sooner or later.
Now the question is, from which game would you like to see characters remade as Adorable Arts?
