Today, we are taking a trip to the graveyard of Square Enix games. This particular game is a prime example of why I am not a fan of mobile and free-to-play games. Once the plug is pulled, there is no chance to experience it again, even if you are solely interested in the storyline.
"Möbius Final Fantasy" was a mobile RPG with turn-based combat and a card-based battle system. Players could explore various realms, engage in battles, and collect cards to enhance their abilities. The game offered a storyline, character customization, and collaborative events with other Final Fantasy titles. Initially released in 2015 for mobile devices and later for PC via Steam, the game was finally shut down in 2020 after five years of service.
Although many might not remember it for the gameplay, what the game certainly gave us are some truly amazing artworks! On its first anniversary, Square Enix released an artbook showcasing numerous breathtaking character drawings by Toshiyuki Itahana, along with background illustrations by Toshitaka Matsuda, spanning across 178 pages. Choosing only a few pictures was challenging due to the abundance of exceptional artwork included. To get a glimpse of what's inside, take a look at all the pictures.
Priced at only 20€, it's a valuable addition for artbook collectors, whether they are fans of the game or not. Despite being a little older, it's still available for purchase at CDJapan.
What are your thoughts on the illustrations featured in this "Möbius Final Fantasy" artbook?
