Let's get straight to the point!
Story: The main story is only 2-3 hours long. It's more of a tutorial to unlock the tracks and drivers. Full of Final Fantasy references but delivered in a really silly and cringy way. Repeating the same jokes multiple times was just annoying!
Gameplay: The strength of the game. It is really engaging and it's motivating you to play again. The use of FF themed spells and driver skills are making every race really entertaining. Recovery time after being hit by something is too long. This should be reduced as it can be really irritating. The tutorial was really frustrating!
Content: By far the biggest weakness! Weak story. Only 9 tracks that are way too short. No 4-players local multiplayer. The game obviously concentrates on the GP online mode. The loading and waiting times are feeling like forever! You spend more time waiting than playing. Then this stupid premium currency and battle pass (normal for 8€ and premium 25€) in a full price title is a big slap in the face. Currency expires after 5 months. Battle pass need to be purchased every season. $quare €nix at its finest. Don't support this kind of crap! It's the Dissidia NT disaster all over again.
Graphics: The graphics are actually pretty good and leave nothing to complain about. They look cute what really fits the theme of the game. The only critics is the bad visibility on some levels.
Music: The music is really entertaining and represents the theme well. Some tunes are already known from the Mystery Dungeon game. The theme song is really catchy. An okay soundtrack but nothing groundbreaking.
Verdict: Overall the game is really fun as i enjoyed every single race. But there are way too many things that are leaving a bad after-taste. Microtransactions and locking characters behind battle passes in a full price title is a big No-Go for me! Why all the greed SE?! The game feels more like a free to play mobile game that i paid 50€ for! You had one simple job and you had to screw it up!
