FFVII Ever Crisis Adds High School Story, Dragon Quest Tact Collaboration Announced

During the latest stream, Square Enix shared several updates for Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis, including upcoming events, crossovers, and character content planned throughout 2025.
The biggest announcement was the reveal of the Ever Crisis Academy Seven: Rival Showdown Arc (official English title pending), set to launch in May 2025. Originally thought to be an April Fools' Day joke, this event reimagines FFVII Ever Crisis characters in a high school setting, with Barret as a gym teacher and Cloud aiming to become the Brawler: First Class. In addition to the school event, Square Enix confirmed the launch of a summer event, featuring new summer-themed outfits for characters Zack and Angeal. These outfits will be available soon as part of the seasonal content.
In June 2025, players can look forward to a rerun of the Final Fantasy VI crossover event, bringing back FFVI-related content. Then in August 2025, a new collaboration with Dragon Quest Tact will go live, introducing Dragon Quest-themed content to Ever Crisis. Separately, Cloud, Tifa, Reno, Aerith, and a younger version of Sephiroth will appear in Dragon Quest Tact starting April 25, 2025.
