Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within – Different Kind of Final Fantasy Figures
Though The Spirits Within may not top the list for every Final Fantasy fan, the action figures from the film tell a story of their own. These figures are strikingly different from the Play Arts, Bring Arts, or even Creatures and Extra Knights series that showcase the franchise’s usual style. Instead, they reflect the 90s and 2000s trend in western comic and action movie figures, with a much more realistic, almost doll-like appearance.
As a collector, I felt the need to include them in my Final Fantasy collection, especially since I found them as a set for a great price. Yet, despite the decent quality, they have a gloomy vibe that doesn’t quite align with the spirit of the series, making them feel somewhat out of place. After a while, they’ve ended up on a shelf behind my office door—maybe even the basement if I need more display space someday.
What do you think? Do you like action figures with a realistic, westernized look, or do you prefer the stylized designs more commonly associated with Final Fantasy?
