Apple Strudel

Summer is here and we don't need to work on the beach body anymore! It's time to collect some calories and be ready for the cold winter..

With this recipe I can guarantee you will have a nice warm layer around your belly in no time 😂


I dedicate this post to @finalfanjessi that, like me, loves any kind of apple cakes! So much that those are even our choices for birthday 😅

Of course the credit for this really good looking piece goes to my wife that, as always, did an amazing job!


The recipe is not hard to follow except the pattern to fold the pastry in the end. I wouldn't had any idea but my wife knew instantly what to do. First step is the preparation of the filling by mixing all of the ingredients together and caramelizing them in a pot. Afterwards you need to discard the fluid that would make the strudle soggy. Then transfer the filling into the pastry and bring into form.


Time: 30min (preparation) + 25min (backing)

Difficulty: Easy

Costs: Low

Taste: ★★★★☆

Result: 6 portions


Verdict: The recipe is easy, the ingredients not hard to find and the result is definitely really tasty. The only thing I can criticize is the cardamom and maple syrup, that are not really necessary and their only purpose is to make the strudel taste more "medieval". As those two products are not that cheap we will do it without them in the future. I will add some raisins instead 🤤
