Square Enix has confirmed that a Traditional Chinese version of Final Fantasy XIV will launch in 2025, expanding the MMORPG’s availability to new regions. The game will be distributed by UserJoy Technology and Zhibao International and will cover Taiwan, Hong Kong, Macau, Singapore, Malaysia, and additional areas.
To mark the announcement, producer and director Naoki Yoshida has released a video message addressing the Traditional Chinese player community:
A press conference and player event will take place on March 30, where attendees can expect discussions on the game’s operation, music performances, and interactive activities. Yoshida will also be present to engage with the community. Players who register for the event will receive a Fat Chocobo mount, with redemption codes being distributed on launch day and valid for 15 days.
Similar to the Mainland China and Korean releases, the Traditional Chinese version will operate on separate local servers in collaboration with regional partners, meaning it will not be connected to the global version of Final Fantasy XIV.
