GBA - Final Fantasy I & II Dawn of Souls - US

This time, I chose a Game Boy Advance compilation of the first 2 Final Fantasy games. It contains, like all GBA versions, graphical enhancements and also some additional content.

These versions of Final Fantasy and Final Fantasy II stay true to their original NES counterparts. They mirror the visuals of the WonderSwan Color adaptation and offer a handy Bestiary feature, which lets players view enemies they've defeated. This addition was first introduced in the PlayStation package.

Final Fantasy I brings a special treat with four exclusive dungeons - Earthgift Shrine, Hellfire Chasm, Lifespring Grotto, and Whisperwind Cove - accessible by collecting crystals after defeating significant foes.

Final Fantasy II introduces a distinctive feature: the 'Soul of Rebirth' bonus dungeon, providing a journey through the afterlife for characters who met their end during the main story.

For collectors and enthusiasts, it's worth noting that acquiring these versions can be a bit of an investment. In good condition, they're being sold for around 100€ and if you're after a sealed copy, the price can soar to 200€ and beyond.

Do you prefer the GBA version or the original? Or maybe even a completely different version?
