Story: Is non-existent, but is nothing I will consider in my rating, as it is not necessary in this kind of games. You are also not complaining that racing games don't having a story too, right?
Gameplay: The gameplay is fantastic. Using two buttons of your choice and the sticks to follow the melodies through various levels works surprisingly well. The game is really beginners friendly, but also offers enough challenge for veterans. Best thing: you can play in coop with other person by sharing the buttons or online against each other!
Content: The standard edition of the game offers 385 songs that will probably please the majority of Final Fantasy fans. Of course, there is a deluxe and premium deluxe edition... What is really annoying me, that SE removed 27 "special" songs to charge you additional 30€ because a Season Pass is included in the Deluxe edition... Zanarkand or Eyes on Me belong in the standard version! Yes, I am salty about that!
Graphics: I played it primarily on PS5 but also tried out the Switch version and graphics on both platforms are colorful, with nice animation and without noticeable frame drops. There is literally nothing to complain about.
Music: Nothing much to say here. Final Fantasy music is a masterpiece and getting so many different songs will please the ears of every fan. I am sure we will get even more songs with future updates.
Verdict: The game is a must-play for all fans of Final Fantasy music and rhythm games. It offers a ton of content, long time motivation and with multiplayer more reasons to turn it on every day. 100% recommended! If you are still hesitating, try out the demo and be hooked!
