One of the few Final Fantasy games that I haven't actually played myself is Final Fantasy: The 4 Heroes of Light. Like many other Nintendo DS games, I didn't own it because I was a little PSP and Vita fanboy 🤷
Final Fantasy: The 4 Heroes of Light is a spin-off game from the main series. Players embark on a quest as four young heroes to rescue a princess and save the world from darkness. It includes many typical Final Fantasy elements such as controlling a group of four characters, turn-based battles, a job system for character customization, and a charming art style reminiscent of classic RPGs. With its nostalgic gameplay and whimsical story, it offers an enjoyable adventure for genre fans. Additionally, there is a wireless co-op mode that allows up to four players to play together.
This game typically sells for at least 90€ or more on eBay. However, I managed to get it some time ago for a third of that price and, of course, couldn't say no. 🤷♀️ If you come across any NDS games in sealed condition, grab them! The prices for those will continue to increase every year.
If they were to re-release this game for one of the modern consoles, I would definitely play it. It's a perfect game for those who are looking for a turn-based Final Fantasy experience.
Have you played The 4 Heroes of Light?
Fun fact: There was originally a sequel planned for this game. However, during development, due to its unique story and gameplay elements, it was renamed and became known as Bravely Default! Have you heard of that one? 😊
