Novel - Final Fantasy VII Remake: Traces of Two Pasts

With the current Rebirth hype surrounding the franchise, now seems like the perfect moment to introduce this book.

Final Fantasy VII Remake Traces of Two Pasts is a novel written by Kazushige Nojima, focusing on the heroines of the game, Aerith Gainsborough and Tifa Lockhart. Released in July 2021 in Japanese, it was revealed alongside the new Final Fantasy VII Remake Material Ultimania Plus and offered as a pre-order package. The English translation became available in March 2023, translated by Stephen Kohler.

The novel is divided into three episodes: "Traces of Tifa," "Traces of Aerith," and "Picturing the Past" (Episode 2 Coda). It explores the childhood stories of Tifa and Aerith as they share their personal accounts with each other. Tifa reveals her upbringing in Nibelheim and her journey to Midgar, while Aerith reflects on her childhood with Elmyra Gainsborough.

Additionally, the Coda chapter offers a retranslation of Final Fantasy VII Remake: Picturing the Past.

With a price range of 16-18€, this book is a must-read for all fans of the game, as it offers a greater depth to the characters of Aerith and Tifa, as well as to the world of Final Fantasy VII. You can easily find it in every store, making it also accessible to fans everywhere.
