Today is the 23rd anniversary of Final Fantasy IX, and since many of you have requested more posts about current events, here's an anniversary celebration post! 🎉
Among all the versions of the game that I own, I've decided to showcase the only platinum version I've had in my collection for a very long time, possibly even the longest. This particular release dates back to my pre-collector days when, as a teenager, I would opt for the cheapest option. 🤷♀️ Some might wonder why I have FFIX longer than FFVII, considering it was my first Final Fantasy game. Unfortunately, many years ago, I lost all of my original PlayStation games and had to start from scratch :-/
I believe there's not much I need to say about the game, as it is considered by many to be the best of all time. Long-time fans especially appreciate its return to the series' roots in comparison to FFVII and FFVIII.
Taking a look at the packaging, you can see that these were the times when games still came with manuals containing interesting information. The FFIX booklet included not only instructions on how to play the game but also pictures of all the playable characters and a hint to visit the Square website for additional story content. Additionally, an ad for the 9 cm Bandai Figures couldn't be missing. The most amusing thing is the phone number you could call if you were stuck somewhere and needed help from an SE Squaresoft employee. 😂
