PS1 - Final Fantasy VII International - JP - PsOne Books

Many game collectors aim to acquire the first print of a game. As a Final Fantasy collector, I aspire to have every version of the Final Fantasy games. It was only natural that I also obtained some "value" editions for my collection.

PSone Books is a series of re-releases of popular games tailored for those with a limited budget. They are similar to the Platinum versions (PAL) or Greatest Hits versions (NA) released in other regions.

The PSone Books version is quite similar to the Japanese Ultimate Hits edition, except for example, the back of the game being part of the obi and the case itself being transparent at the back. After all, you have to save money somewhere, right?

This re-release is based on the International Version of FFVII, additionally containing a fourth disc called the perfect guide. It provides information of the locations on the Planet, items, weapons, armor, accessories, Materia, characters, enemies, summons, vehicles, early artworks, and the footage of the alpha version of Final Fantasy VII.

I hardly come across this version being mentioned by anyone. I've only seen a few people who own the Ultimate Hits edition. It's amusing how probably the least expensive version of all is the least represented one.

Were you familiar with this version of the game? Who even has it in their collection?
