My pre-release plan for Final Fantasy XVI was to play Devil May Cry V, which I recently bought specifically for this occasion. However, I am still stuck playing Xenoblade Chronicles, so I haven't had the chance to play DmCV at all. Nevertheless, since I still felt like sharing some Dante awesomeness, I decided to feature the first game from the series in today's post.
Devil May Cry is an action-adventure game released in 2001. Players take on the role of Dante, a demon hunter with supernatural abilities. The game features fast-paced combat, stylish moves, and intense boss battles. Dante battles through a gothic-inspired world filled with demonic creatures and unraveling mysteries. With a combination of swords, guns, and magical abilities, players must master the gameplay mechanics to defeat enemies and progress through the game. Devil May Cry introduced a unique blend of action, exploration, and stylish combat, establishing it as a beloved franchise in the gaming industry.
With its initial release, Capcom introduced a game that showcased one of the coolest characters in gaming history. While some aspects might be considered cringe-worthy by the newer generation, they resonated with my teenage self on every level. Who among Dante's fans didn't consider bleaching their hair, right? 😂
Are you a fan of the Devil May Cry series?
P.S. I had initially intended to share a trailer, but since the game is quite dated now, I couldn't find anything suitable for a reel. However, what really annoyed me on YouTube was the amount of FFXVI videos when I searched for Devil May Cry. I don't know what's worse—the YouTube algorithm or the clickbait YouTubers with their thumbnails that make me want to punch them in the face...
