Today, I'd like to share with you the PS2 version of Final Fantasy XI, which, for some reason, was only available in Japan and the US.
The game alone might not be that spectacular, so I thought I'd show you something even rarer and more interesting. The bundle I'm showcasing here includes the game itself, a guidebook, and a 40GB hard drive.
When I purchased this some time ago, there were both good and bad news. The good news is that the game is still in a sealed condition, which is amazing for this kind of bundle that was originally intended for use. The packaging is in good condition, showing only a few scratches here and there. However, the bad news is that the seal on the hard drive is broken. Some people who were interested before me wanted to check if there really was an HDD inside... argh!
On the PS2, the HDD was necessary to install the game and to get all the updates and expansions since the PS2 didn't have any internal storage and only used memory cards. It could also be used to enhance the loading times of certain games, such as Final Fantasy X.
It was quite challenging to find this item in good condition due to its age and niche status. Some people are selling it for over €200 in much worse condition. I was fortunate to find this treasure in my local area, sold by a really nice guy who wanted it to go into the hands of a collector (and it did, right?).
