Because, for some completely unknown reasons, Square Enix is not showing much love for Final Fantasy XII, I decided to change it today.
Final Fantasy XII: International Zodiac Job System was released as part of the Final Fantasy 20th Anniversary and contains a reworked version of the original FFXII release for PS2 and also an additional 20th anniversary DVD.
The small team that was working on this international version didn't achieve everything Hiroyuki Ito had in mind, but still altered the game significantly by implementing a lot of new stuff. The biggest change was the new take on the License Board system, with twelve boards instead of one, each corresponding to a different zodiac sign and job. Other additions were 3 new modes (weak, strong and trial), English voice acting and various other tweaks and changes to the battle system and mechanics.
The Bonus DVD is the same that came with the Collectors Edition of Final Fantasy XII in the US and Canada, but with Japanese dub. It includes artwork, interviews with game designers, an official History of Final Fantasy documentary, and some advertising game clips.
With so many changes, is it worth to import the game and play it? No need for that! The more recent Remaster for PS4,Xone, Switch and PC is based exactly on this release and comes with refreshed HD graphics.
