With the recent announcement of a remake of the first game for Switch, I thought it's a good time to take a look at this series and the fourth entry released for the PS2.
Front Mission is another series published and developed by Square Enix with the first title being released in 1995 for the Super Famicom. The most recent entry (what probably some didn't know) is the game Left Alive which also became the first survival game in the series.
Front Mission is a tactical RPG with a really engaging and interesting story telling. The story takes place in the 21st and 22nd century and revolves around a military conflict between superpowers. The games can be played completely separated from each other but all are still part of one big story.
The fourth game in the main series received really positive ratings, especially because of the high production value and customization of the mechs. Only the high difficulty and complexity could make series first timers struggle. The title was the top-selling game of Christmas 2003 in Japan and sold over 160,000 copies. The game wasn't released in Europe, but only in Japan and the NA Region.
