Somehow, unconsciously, I have been recently showcasing games that were originally released for an older console but were re-released in a more modern HD version for the current generation. This is also the case with Okami, which I am presenting to you today.
Released by Capcom in 2006, Okami for the PlayStation 2 is a visually stunning action-adventure game steeped in Japanese folklore. Players step into the paws of Amaterasu, a sun goddess in wolf form, on a quest to restore balance to ancient Japan.
The game's standout feature is the Celestial Brush, a magical tool allowing players to interact with the world by drawing symbols. This innovative mechanic transforms gameplay into a work of art, enabling players to summon elements and alter the environment.
Okami's art style, inspired by Japanese ink wash painting, creates a living, breathing canvas. Its engaging gameplay, seamlessly weaving puzzles, combat, and narrative, captivates players.
As mentioned before, if you are interested in playing this classic, an HD version is available for all consoles and PC. The game is currently on sale for just 9, 9,99€ on the PlayStation Store, Nintendo eShop and Steam.
