PS2 - Suikoden IV

Suikoden IV is the fourth installment in the Suikoden series. It was developed and published by Konami in August 2004.

The game revolves around Lazlo, a young hero who becomes the captain of a ship called the Headquarters Ship. Lazlo and his crew embark on a quest to find the 108 Stars of Destiny, aiming to restore peace and balance to their world. Along their journey, they encounter allies and enemies, engage in strategic turn-based battles, and uncover a plot that threatens their land's stability. By exploring, recruiting new members, and participating in political intrigues, Lazlo and his comrades strive to create a better future for their homeland.

It is the first game in the series to include voice acting for most characters, excluding the hero. Unlike previous installments, this game takes place primarily at sea, with travel on the world map being done by ship. The party in Suikoden IV consists of four characters who can be controlled individually, in contrast to Suikoden III, where it was divided into three groups. During combat, characters can perform powerful "Unite attacks" by combining their efforts or utilize runic magic combinations. The game also features both individual battles and large-scale naval battles that can be customized.

Konami has recently announced the release of Suikoden I & II HD Remaster for PS, Xbox, Switch, and PC. This remastered version of the Suikoden Series is a great starting point if you are interested in diving into the games.
