Nowadays, many people will associate the Bayonetta Series with the Nintendo Switch. But the original release of the first game was 13 Years ago for the PS3 and X360. Unfortunately Sega didn't want to fund the sequel so Nintendo stepped in and published the games exclusively for their own consoles.
I picked up the first game because it was basically a Devil May Cry game with a female protagonist. Not really a surprise considering that the director Hideki Kamiya was also the director of the first installment in the Devil May Cry series.
You play as Bayonetta, a witch that awakens after a 500-year slumber with a slight memory problem. She ends up meeting Enzo, an informant who can help her find more information about the other half of an item known as the “Eyes of the World.”
Bayonetta is capable of shapeshifting and using various firearms. She possesses magical attacks and can use her hair to summon demons to dispatch her foes. The stylish and over the top action will instantly satisfy every DmC fan.
If you want to play the game on a non-Nintendo console, the game was remastered with 4K graphics available at 60fps on Xbox One X/PlayStation 4 Pro. It can be purchased separately in the PSN and MS store or physically as 10th Anniversary Bundle together with Vanquish.
