And I end the series of spooky themed games with one of my favorite horror game series. FEAR!
FEAR stands for First Encounter Assault Recon and is a first-person shooter mixed with psychological horror. The story of the game revolves around mysteries related to a girl named Alma. She is a psychic who seeks revenge against Armacham Technology Corporation, due to their usage of her in a series of experiments. The series was, at the time of the release, well known for the really intelligent enemy AI.
F.E.A.R. 3 is the last entry in the series that was released 11 years ago.. Damn how the time flies.. How about a new one? What makes it different, compared to the previous entry, is that it can be played completely in coop. You either control a character that can use any kind of weapons or one that can possess enemies and use psychic abilities.
Unfortunately the last entry is also the weakest one, because Warner Bros acquired the publishing rights to the franchise and forced Day 1 studios to make it more action-oriented than horrorish.. How delusional can you be as a publisher to remove the core of the original game?! I will haunt you forever for this decision and not releasing a new game that is back to the roots!
Fear is also part of the Xbox backwards compatibility and can even be played with performance boost on the newer generations of Xbox consoles.
