I thought that today I would continue with another one of the relatively few non-Japanese games in my collection. Interestingly, this happens to be the ASIA version of the game that I received from my girlfriend for my birthday (before she became my wife 😅). When it was released, this game was THE ONE to play, as it established a new benchmark for storytelling. "The Last of Us" is an action-adventure game set in a post-apocalyptic world that takes players on a really emotional journey. The story unfolds in a world ravaged by a mysterious outbreak and follows the unlikely pair of Joel and Ellie as they navigate the remains of society and confront daunting challenges. The core theme of the narrative revolves around their profound bond, leading to a deeply emotional exploration of the essence of survival, sacrifice, and the human spirit. The game's storytelling and well-crafted characters contribute to a thought-provoking experience that lingers with players long after they finish playing. Players will encounter a mix of intense stealth, strategic combat, and exploration. The game prompts players to carefully evaluate situations, taking into account limited resources and enemy AI that reacts realistically to your decisions. Balancing action sequences with quieter, character-driven moments, the gameplay provides a well-rounded and immersive experience. The world design is carefully constructed, inviting players to explore its beauty while uncovering the secrets of this post-pandemic world. Especially now, with the TV show released, the game is back in the spotlight and might pique the interest of new fans of the series. For some reason, this game has been remade (even after having a remastered version for PS4) under the title "The Last of Us Part I," and is now available for PS5 and PC. Are you a fan of "The Last of Us" series?
