Last week, I finished playing two games that I recently purchased. I want to showcase these games to you today and also next Thursday. Let's begin with the first game, which was a lot of fun and provided a truly enjoyable experience.
The game I'm talking about is Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon Chronicles.
Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon is a 2D side-scrolling platformer that closely resembles the classic Castlevania games on the NES, particularly Castlevania III: Dracula's Curse. Similar to Castlevania III, the game consists of stages with branching paths, leading to a single boss encounter. There are also multiple playable characters. The player initially controls the swordsman Zangetsu and gradually recruits other characters as they advance through the story. Each character wields different weapons, possesses unique skills, health points, and attack styles, making them more suitable for specific situations. The player can instantly switch between these characters at any time. The game offers a 2-player co-op mode, a boss rush mode, and various options to increase the game's difficulty.
Both games can be purchased separately as digital downloads on all platforms. Additionally, the second game was physically released by Limited Run in the US. However, there's an exciting option available: a Japanese physical release of "Curse of the Moon Chronicles" that came out last month. This release includes both games and is fully playable in English. I acquired my copy from Amazon Japan, but it's also available at stores like Play-Asia.
For fans of classic Castlevania, this game is an absolute must-play! The gameplay is fantastic and effectively satisfies the craving for a new game within this genre. I genuinely relished the gameplay and welcomed the challenge that these games provide.
