Today's post is about the last physical release of a FFXIV expansion. With the release of FFXIV Endwalker, Square Enix announced to not release the latest expansion as disk anymore and offer it only as a digital download.
While it probably makes sense to the majority, as this game is an MMORPG and need to be downloaded and updated anyway before playing, as a collector it hurts to see another disc version disappearing.
Especially the collectors edition of the game was replaced with a "Collectors Box".. (I will post the Endwalker box another time also)
I am not really fan of this as it feels like i am just buying a bunch of merchandise. The missing of the game inside the box just gives me a feeling of incompleteness... It wouldn't be too much to ask and include a disc version at least in the CE.
About the game itself: Shadowbringers was considered the best expansion of the MMORPG but was easily surpassed by Endwalker that is concluding the main storyline. It added a ton of new content like the additional classes, Dancer and Gunbreaker.
What's your opinion, that Endwalker was released as "digital only"?
