While it might not be obvious at first glance, this package includes two games: South Park: The Stick of Truth and South Park: The Fractured but Whole. The box even came with a code for the prequel game. Though the code had expired, Ubisoft extended the deadline, allowing me to redeem it. I got the bundle for a great price, and it had been on my wishlist for quite a while.
Both games capture the humor and style of the South Park series, offering unique gameplay experiences tied to the show's over-the-top satire.
The Stick of Truth is a classic RPG-style adventure where the kids of South Park role-play in a fantasy setting. Developed in collaboration with Trey Parker and Matt Stone, the game feels like an interactive episode of the show. It features turn-based combat, character classes, and side quests that bring a nostalgic RPG vibe with a South Park twist.
The Fractured but Whole shifts gears, parodying superhero culture. Players join rival superhero factions created by the kids, with the game expanding on RPG mechanics through a tactical grid combat system. While it builds on the foundation of its predecessor, the superhero theme brings a fresh perspective.
Although both games are enjoyable, I find The Stick of Truth the stronger title. Its fantasy setting and pacing feel more engaging, while The Fractured but Whole occasionally leans on repetitive humor. Still, I’d recommend both to fans of South Park and RPGs, especially those who enjoy the show’s humor and storytelling.
