Maybe some of you have noticed that recently I've been trying out different genres of games. This is another game that I bought because I was a big fan of Bomberman, especially during the PS1 era, and "Bomberman World" is one of my all-time favorite PS1 games.
"Super Bomberman R" is the first title in the Super Bomberman series in 20 years. The game features both single-player and multiplayer modes, where players control Bomberman characters in a grid-based arena. The objective is to strategically place and detonate bombs to eliminate opponents while avoiding getting caught in the explosions yourself. Power-ups and items can enhance your bombs' capabilities and offer advantages during matches. The game offers a mix of classic Bomberman gameplay with modern graphics, new arenas, and a variety of playable characters. It's designed for both casual and competitive players who enjoy fast-paced, strategic multiplayer action.
Unfortunately, the online mode was pretty much dead when I tried to play it, and I could only play a single match online.. -.-
Another complaint I have is that it's sometimes hard to see the elevations of blocks due to the 3D components of the game. This made me run into a dead end and place bombs in the wrong spots multiple times.
Overall, the game was a really fun experience. While the story is rather short, it's still funny and worth playing. In the end, Bomberman thrives in multiplayer, and it's a perfect game to play with friends when they come to visit and you've had enough of talking 😂
