Another post about one of my favorite Final Fantasy games!
In World of Final Fantasy, you follow the story of siblings Reynn and Lann, both possessing the power to tame creatures called Mirages. These are monsters you encounter during your adventures in the world of Grymoire.
Does this sound familiar? Even as a big Final Fantasy fan, I always describe this game as Final Fantasy meets Pokémon, and definitely in the most positive way! The big difference lies in the mechanics of stacking your characters and mirages. You can combine one or two mirages with both of your characters. These combinations unlock new skills, merge your HP and AP, but also make you vulnerable to elements from each member of a stack.
The world reassembles many places from well-known games (like the Mako Reactor from FFVII for example). There are numerous guest appearances, and you can summon some of your favorite characters, here called champions.
The story is really engaging and a lot of fun! After initially starting it, I couldn't stop playing until I finished it. The story takes around 50-60 hours, with a little bit of grinding here and there. Completing your mirages takes way more than that 😂.
I 100% recommend this to anyone looking to start with the Final Fantasy franchise. It's also a perfect game for a younger audience, but even veterans will have a ton of fun with it as the game is full of references to previous Final Fantasy titles.
