I don't even know where to start writing about this game... This is straight up #trashgamefriday material..
This game is a "remake" of the originally in 2003 released first-person shooter with the same name. Because in the early 2000 I had a lot of fun with the original game that was rocking my monster Pentium 3 PC rig, I was really curious to play the remake. The main reason why I bought and played it now, was the price. Around 10€ for the special edition with a steelbook. What can go wrong?! I thought..
The game is telling a story of an agent who lost his memories and after a while realizes he got caught up in a conspiracy of a secret group that is trying to overthrow the government. The story highly reminded me of the early James Bond movies.. But unfortunately with the same amount of cringe in the dialogs.
While I could overlook the not up-to-date story telling and dialogs.. The gameplay is just terrible... I really don't know what should be the remake here? It's probably the most lazy attempt of an old game release i ever saw. Beforehand I knew that a big patch was available, but even after downloading it, the game is just bad. I always try to find something good about everything, so I can say at least it's pretty short and I didn't have to suffer too long.😂
The enemy AI is probably the worst I ever saw in an FPS game. You are being detected: they somersault! You shoot at them: they somersault! You run towards them: they somersault! Somersault: they somersault! 😂
Biggest joke is the possibility to get a PS5 upgrade! They seriously want to charge you 20!!!€ for a PS4 upgrade of this disaster! Oh my God! The audacity! How delusional you have to be?!
You know how bad this remake is when the sales of the original game outsold the remake at the time of the release because the people were so mad...
