I mentioned last week, that I finally received a physical copy of my favorite game that I played this year.
I started it digitally on my vita because I thought it's just a short puzzle game I can play it when I am bored. Aaannnd whoosh, after 60 hours I was consumed by the story and puzzles and only stopped after experiencing all endings!
I am talking about the Zero Escape series and in this case the Nonary games!
Zero escape games are split into two modes: visual novel story telling and escape room puzzles. Every entry tells a story of 9 people trapped inside a facility, trying to escape by solving puzzles and gathering information about the "organizer" of the games and the people trapped inside. Before every puzzle, a team of people is chosen what is having an impact on the outcome of the story. The story and decisions are also offering some additional spices that i don't want to spoil for those that want to play it.
The concept is amazing and the decision-making and story are great! As a biiiig fan of Steins gate, especially the second game, Virtue's last reward, was right up my alley! It also got all the scientific references and mystery with plot twists.
Are you not familiar with the developer Spike chunsoft? I am sure if you are into the genre of Adventure/Visual Novels you heard of titles like Danganronpa, Shiren the wanderer, Conception and also the recently released AI: The somnium files.
The bundle shown contains the first two games while the third one is sold separately. I will buy it at some point and post a review another time.
