I usually refrain from making posts about current releases on Instagram because the platform gets flooded with thousands of similar-looking posts. However, in a recent poll, most of you wanted me to still make a post about Final Fantasy XVI. As a result, I will share the items that have arrived in my collection so far, and any future additions will receive an additional post. Additionally, I plan to dedicate separate posts to highlight specific items, such as the Collector's Edition, Deluxe Edition, and the Controller.
Here is a list of what I have received thus far:
- Final Fantasy XVI Collector's Edition
- Final Fantasy XVI Deluxe Edition
- Final Fantasy XVI Amazon Edition (including Steelbook)
- Final Fantasy XVI Steelbook
- 2x Square Enix Store Pre-Order Bonus: The Realms of Valisthea Wall Banners (6" height printed cloth banners)
- DualSense Wireless Controller "FINAL FANTASY XVI" Limited Edition
Among all these items, the controller stands out as my favorite. Despite some people questioning its connection to Final Fantasy, I personally appreciate its design. The packaging is also impressive and in line with Sony's standards. I'm delighted to have it in my collection, although I do wish it had a wider release outside of Japan.
Moving on, I want to mention the underwhelming pre-order bonus from the Square Enix Store. These cheap, small cloth banners seemed to be disintegrating even before I took them out of the packaging. I noticed loose threads everywhere, and to make matters worse, Square Enix carelessly folded both sets of banners inside the envelope, resulting in significant wrinkles on the initial few banners. Once again, Square Enix Store EU, or whoever was responsible for this, disappointed me.
Nevertheless, I'm glad that the wait for the game is finally over, and we can now hold physical copies in our hands. Experiencing a new main entry in the series is always an exhilarating experience.
As soon as I received my copy of the game, I eagerly started playing, and I have been enjoying it thus far, just like I did with the demo. Throughout my playthrough, I'll be making notes (I've already started!) that will contribute to a detailed review in the future. I'm considering writing one review after completing the initial story playthrough and another when I've achieved 100% completion. I would love to hear your thoughts on this.
