If you watch my stories, you probably noticed that I am not only fan of the Final Fantasy XIII games, but also of the soundtracks. The music from the trilogy is my favorite Final Fantasy music of all time. Masashi Hamauzu did a fantastic job with every single piece! Tracks like The Sunleth Waterscape, Blinded by Light or Saber's Edge have a special place in my heart!
And today I wanted to show you the limited edition of the soundtrack of the first game! The soundtrack contains 4 CDs with a total of 85 tracks. The limited edition of the soundtrack is packed with a special box case. It contains an artbook of the game characters' CG and illustrations, and a fifth disc, which is the Drama CD on Final Fantasy XIII Episode Zero -Promise-, voiced by the characters' voice actors and actresses. The drama CD focuses on the first story called "Encounter." The album also contains the audio drama's script in Japanese.
This soundtrack cost 69,99€ when it was released in 2010 and is not that easy to find nowadays. While used copies can be found for 50€, a new one goes for well over 100€. If it doesn't need to be a limited edition you can still find the normal edition for way less.
