I recently added more Final Fantasy XIV items to my collection, including some I had missed during the first wave. I wasn't sure where to preorder, and by the time I decided, they were already sold out. Fortunately, Square Enix re-released some of them, and I didn't hesitate this time. One of the highlights is this mini aetheryte replica.
For those unfamiliar, aetherytes are large crystals found throughout Eorzea that allow adventurers to teleport across vast distances. Attuning to an aetheryte grants access to the Return and Teleport spells, essential for quick travel. The more aetherytes you attune to, the easier it is to move between locations.
This miniature version is a detailed replica of the in-game aetheryte, complete with a soft blue glow that mimics its appearance in Final Fantasy XIV. While it won’t actually teleport you across Eorzea😅, it makes for a great collectible or display piece. The aetheryte is made from ABS, PVC, and iron, ensuring durability while keeping its design faithful to the game. It requires two button cell batteries to power the glow feature, and to my surprise, they were even included! 😱
The mini aetheryte was initially released in Japan and quickly sold out. It was later restocked and also made available in Western Square Enix stores. In Europe, it was priced at 39.99€ and expected to release in May 2025, though it has already sold out. In North America, it is still available for 39.99$ and can be purchased now.
What do you think of this Final Fantasy XIV aetheryte replica?
