Stranger of Paradise Trial 2

Majority of you were interested in a short review of the demo that was released instantly after Square Enix Presents.

I will mostly compare and mention the differences between the first and second demo. If you want you can check out my previous post about Demo Ver. 1.

Note: This Review contains SPOILERS also known from the new official trailer.

Story: This time the ending of the first level is different and we see a reveal of the character behind "Chaos". We finally see all four warriors of light and learn a lil bit more about the reasons for their adventure. It's a lil bit less chaos and more darkness and crystals this time.

Gameplay: Few things were improved and now Jack feels more agile than before. New Jobs like Pugilist, Duelist or Red Mage were introduced. The biggest reveal was the multiplayer mode that i loved! Nothing is better than playing with other people than relying on the stupid AI. That is still stupid and was annoying me. Especially when they decide to run into "self-destruction" from bombers. You can also choose missions and the members of your party. The second level was cool but pretty confusing.

Graphics: The graphics were improved and are way more enjoyable. (Check out the third picture for a comparison of the two demos) The green-ish tone of the surroundings was reduced. Everything looks also brighter, making it look more detailed. I am still not impressed but i could compare it to FFXIV.

Music: The music of the first level is still annoying me.. Nothing really changed... In the second level i couldn't believe what i hear!!! Not only the level is clearly inspired by FFXIII but also contains the song The Sunleth Waterscape! I love it!!! I don't know why they did it, but i hope we see more influence from other games.

Verdict: Overall i can say that i enjoyed the second demo way more than the first one. One of the reason could be because they tweaked and improved the game on some points. But probably mostly because this time i knew what to expect.
