Inspired by my friends @cheapretrokorean and @king_lizzard, I thought I would also participate in #ThePersonBehindTheAccount. For a change, I'll share a little bit about myself with 10 random facts for my new but also old followers. Please don't run away because of this post! 😂
Here we go:
1. At the age of three/four, I started playing games and even typed my first pieces of BASIC code on my first computer, which was a Commodore C64.
2. I have a Black Belt in Taekwondo, a martial art I chose because of my favorite Tekken character, Hwoarang.
3. In 1997, I was obsessed with reading a review of Final Fantasy VII all over again when I broke my arm during a summer break and couldn't do anything else but read.
4. My parents still don't understand what I work as. They always describe it as "you do the programs," even though my job has little to do with coding 😂.
5. For many years, I played guitar in a melodic death metal band but had to quit due to traveling related to my work.
6. I am a big football (soccer) fan and try to visit at least one game per season of my favorite team.
7. I grew up spending a lot (if not all) of my pocket money in arcades, mostly for beat 'em ups like Dead or Alive, Tekken, and Battle Arena Toshinden.
8. I am a chips connoisseur 🤣. I always have a full stash of chips of all kinds, especially spicy ones. The spicier, the better.
9. Originally, my nickname, chosen when I was 15 😂, was xEzNa, based on the character Setsuna from the anime Angel Sanctuary. For FFXIV, I had to split it up into Xe Zna, and everyone started referring to me as Xe.
10. Because money was almost always an issue when I was a kid, I learned to be thankful for every single thing and never take things for granted. This also relates to gaming, as I was happy about every single game I got, no matter how bad people would consider it nowadays, because it meant a lot of struggle to buy it. Probably one of the reasons why I host giveaways to give something back to people who can't afford it but are big fans.
