When I posted a picture of my most recent proxy parcel, I mentioned that I showed some extra love for Final Fantasy XI, but also got some more exotic Final Fantasy releases. This is both! And a Final Fantasy game for the Xbox makes it extra exotic 😅
This is a sealed copy of the Japanese beta version of Final Fantasy XI for Xbox 360. It's also not just the basic game, but it also contains the first two expansions, Rise of the Zilart and Chains of Promathiam. The reason for this is, that the Xbox 360 version (like the console) was released 4 years after the PC and PS2 release and those expansions were already available at that time. Square Enix withdraw the idea for a release for the first Xbox mainly because of the too small hard drive.
This beta version was included in a limited edition package, together with a standard edition Xbox 360 and a headset for Xbox live during the Japanese launch of the console.
